Sweep Cupcake Card With Frosting, by Patty Bennett

Stampable Frosting... I really don't know what else to call it.. but the minute I saw Sara Douglass demo this on stage at our Stampin' Up! event last April, I knew I needed to try this Sweet Cupcake stamp set and her frosting recipe!!  Mix up the ingredients per the recipe in the photo in this blog post, spread some on a clear block or plastic lid, then stamp your frosting stamp into it and you have stampable frosting to stamp onto your project!!

stamped this adorable card with Cindee and I put the stampable frosting only on the middle cupcake above.  The other 2 are just regular ink.  See my photo tip below for stamping this 3-step frosting stamp!

We saw this basic card layout idea online somewhere (Pinterest probably) and decided we needed to make our own version of this card.  I made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting :)

TIP: clean your block and stamp right away when done stamping.. since this has paint and glue in it, you don't want it to dry on your stamp!

Below: spread some of the "frosting" mixture onto a clear block and use it to ink your stamp, then stamp onto your paper!

Below: this is my preferred method for stamping the cupcake images... stamp the most solid image in the lightest color and add the other images on top.  You can also stamp it "dark to light".. either way seems to work well with this stamp.

You don't have to add the frosting recipe layer.. you can just stamp the 3 images as shown in step 1, 2, 3.  If you want to add the frosting recipe layer, go ahead and stamp that over the stamped (ink) images.

For the final touch on this delicious card, we added some Clear Wink of Stella glimmer pen to the frosting part of each cupcake... so pretty in person!!

We stamped the cupcake and frosting directly on the Whisper White cardstock for the left and right cupcakes, then stamped the center one onto a scrap of Whisper White and die cut it out with the Cupcake Cutouts framelits.  It's mounted onto the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The sweet die cut is found in the Cupcake Cutouts framelits set as well!

Better Than An Adult Coloring Book, by Sandi MacIver

Better than an Adult Coloring Book!

truly, this new Sitting Here Stamp Set is better than an adult coloring book because when you are finished coloring, you can cut them out and make cards!…Lots and Lots of Cards, haha…

better than an adult coloring book

I shared this picture this morning on my “Stampin with Sandi Hangout” group over on Facebook – come on over and join us, we share what we are creating, very casual group.

Anyway, I shared that I was having a blast this morning coloring with my Stampin-n-Write Markers, and this new “Sitting Here” Stamp Set.  I grabbed some scrap paper, stamped the images and colored all morning.   I love the little cushions that come in the set and the beautiful deck rocker because it’s my favorite thing to do, sit out on our deck surrounded by beautiful flowers and fresh air… so anyway, here is what I created with all of my little pieces this morning:

The first one I stamped on Tip Top Taupe card stock with Soft Suede ink, then you can color the rocker in with a wet Aqua Painter, it will pick up the ink and move it around for you.

I used watercolor paper to stamp the basket, dog, and the pillows, and then used my inkpad lids and aqua painter for the base coats, and then added highlights with my markers.

I love the little doggy and basket too, we used to have an Australian Cattle dog named Jack, he was two tone gray and he loved to curl up like this and sleep, so I used my Smoky Slate and my White Gel pen to create him.

For the seat on the rocker I used my Tempting Turquoise Marker and White Gel Pen.

and then we had to do the cat!…haha…so this one is all stamped on watercolor paper so that I could add a bit of a wash to the background, Marina Mist at the top and Smoky Slate at the bottom. Then I used Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Cucumber Crush and Sweet Sugarplum to color in the images.

I cut out the pillows and the cat, and used glue dots to add them over the chair for just a bit of depth.

Do you like the vines hanging down?  can you guess what stamp set they are from?  Hint – they are upside down.

Here is a little close up for you.  For the round cushion I used Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum markers and just blended them, for the square pillow, same thing and added crushed curry, cucumber crush and tempting turquoise.

My kitty is done the same as the dog, in Smoky Slate and my White Gel pen for his paws.

Anyway, that was my fun morning.  It’s a long weekend up here in Canada and we had a bunch of wood delivered…..it’s time to put in our vegi garden, so I’ll be getting dirty all weekend….hope you are doing something fun this weekend too…..

Teacup Gate Fold Card, by Patty Bennett

Fancy folds blog hop banner
Once again I am thrilled to be a part of the international Fancy Folds Design Team, bringing you another blog hop featuring a Gate Fold Card!  Our design team, comprised of demonstrators from all over the world are each sharing their version of a Gate Fold Card with you this month!  Be sure to visit all of the blogs listed at the bottom of this post to see them all!

My version of a Gate Fold Card features the Stampin' Up! Cups & Kettles framelit dies and the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series paper, both found in the 2016 Occasions catalog.

Create a Gate Fold card featuring Cups and Kettles framelit dies and Birthday Bouquet floral designer paper from Stampin' Up! Card by Patty Bennett

For my version of the Gate Fold Card, I drew inspiration from an antique cup and saucer that I have had in my china cabinet for a long time.  I have been wanting to die cut the teapot and teacup out of the beautiful floral pattern in the Stampin' UP! Birthday Bouquet paper package for a couple of months now, and this seemed the perfect project to do that!!

If you have not made a Gate Fold Card yet, the basic directions are simple, then it's up to you for how you'd like to embellish it!

1.  Start with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock and score it at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8"
2.  Using a bone folder, fold the 2 side flaps inward
3.  Cut designer paper or stamped cardstock to layer onto the side panels.
4.  Embellish your Gate Fold card with any stamped or die cut pieces of your choice.

Dimensions for my pieces are shown in the graphic below:

I think the natural thing to do would have been to put the teapot on the left fold and the teacup on the right fold, but then you wouldn't be able to open up the card very well, so I adhered them both to the left fold, with Stampin' Dimensionals.
To make them a little stiffer than just designer paper, I also die cut them with Thick Whisper White cardstock and then glued the 2 layers together with Tombo Multipurpose Glue.  That worked out really well!

Below is what my Gate Fold card looks like when it's open.  I used stamps from the Birthday Blooms set on both the front and inside of my card.  I LOVE this set!!  (see it on pg 9 of the Occasions catalog).

The Cups & Kettles framelit die set is one of my favorites in the Occasions catalog.  Have you played with it yet? It's so perfect for a little girls tea party or a lovely greeting card for a friend!

I lightly stamped the pretty flower stamp from Birthday Blooms in the background on the front panels with Blushing Bride ink.  Those stamped panels are mounted onto Mossy Meadow polkadot paper from the In Color paper stack, and it's all on a folded Blushing Bride folded card.

I love the little knife, fork and spoon in the Cups & Kettles framelit die set, and they are just perfect when die cut with the Silver foil paper!!  I put one on a piece of a doily.. I just thought it was sweeeet!
